Yay! Paper!...This place is great but I always end up spending alot of cash on, well, paper. I got some nice thank you notes and cool stamps and everything came out wonderful but I feel like I needed to do this on my own: the staff were friendly and approachable but not very useful.

I'm not that crafty so when I need some help in making some invitations, this was the place. When I first walked in, I was so overwhelmed by their unbelievable selection. They have everything from premade cards, invitations, gifts, paper, wrapping. etc..its hard not to be overwhelmed! But truly, they have such and amazing , knowledgeable, and helpful staff that really puts you at ease.!!
Thank god I'm not too crafty otherwise I would be broke. Prices are a bit high- but know that you are getting quality unique goods.

Paper Source is one of my biggest weaknesses. I can stop in there needing one thing and wind up hundreds of dollars poorer in a matter of minutes.
I took the "Cards for all occasions" workshop a few months back. I tried to sign up online but it was showing as full, so a super helpful staffer at the Brookline location helped me out when I called and fit me in. Apparently they only take so many online reservations and leave a couple of spots open, so as not to overbook. Which surprised me because when I went the day of the class there were only 3 other people there. Oh well, more glitter and stamps for me!
I believe Hannah was the instructor and she was super nice and showed me some very cool tricks and techniques. Overall the class was fun, but I mostly just took away from it what supplies I would need to start my card making. They do offer a #% coupon off your purchase for taking the class, so that was cool. (I forget if it was 10% or 20%)
I made a HUGE purchase that day so that I could be stocked and ready for any type of occasion I could warrant a card for. Let's put it this way, I was sick of paying $3 to $9 per card because at the rate I send them out to friends, family, neighbors, random strangers, I was going broke. So I figured the couple hundred $ that I put into the supplies in order to make my own would be money well spent. Well, it was, kinda. After purchasing cards, envelopes, lining templates, embossing tool, embossing powders, brads, thingy to nail in the brads, ink pads .... the list goes on and on - I figure I was actually losing $ on the deal. But you know what, now I have the ability to make a card on a moments notice ... as opposed to settling for whatever generic card the local CVS has. I go back to Paper Source for my supplies and am always happy with the service and the vast assortment - if only the prices were a little more reasonable, but hey, can't win them all.

I used this place constantly when planning my wedding. I even got my husband hooked on it. We did all of our invitations, programs, placecards and thank-you notes here. When you are able to buy in bulk, you save quite a bit of money. And if you buy 10 of one item, you get one free. Not a bad deal when you are trying to save $$.
I have noticed that their cards (birthday or other occasion) can be quite expensive. They are, however, cute and different, so it might be worth the extra money.
The staff here are fabulous. Very helpful and enthusiastic. They know postage rates for the different sized cards/envelopes and they love hearing about new ideas for color schemes, etc.

Wonderful things here. Went to the one in Wellesley yesterday and it was just as nice and big as the one in Brookline, but without the parking hassle. Somewhat pricey but great quality. Also staff is usually very helpful and will go out of their way to check if they have something in their stock room for you or even order store-to-store transfers.

Paper Source is like being in a candy store for me. There are so many colors and always new merchandise. They have a unique selection of cards, crafting supplies, paper, and gifts. As a person who can't stand mass-produced Hallmark-type cards, I find Paper Source a great place to find supplies to make my own. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because if given a choice, I prefer to shop at a store that's one-of-a-kind, rather than a chain and because I spend way too much unnecessary money here.
On a side note, if you're on a budget, before you make a visit to Paper Source, take out your crafting box and see if you really need anything first because no doubt once you enter, you will leave with a bag full of stuff.

Great place for funny/unusual cards as well as creative and unrivaled gifts. Little on the pricey side. Always fun.

I have been to the Paper Source only in Coolidge Corner. Never hearing of the store before (or anything like it), I was pleasantly surprised as I walked through the three section store. A heaven for anyone that is even slightly crafty or knows someone who is. Excellent papers, scrap-booking supplies, stationary, envelopes, stamps, professional invites, business cards, gifts, card, and much much more. This would get five stars except the staff isn't quite as friendly and helpful as would be expected.

I love this place! They have tons and tons of paper supplies, calendars, cards, craft-related books and other trinkets. I love their stock of journals; they can be a little pricey, but they're of great quality. I especially like the ones made in India with decoupaged advertisements. The staff is very friendly and helpful -- it's a great place for all of your stationery needs.

I really want to be in love with this store. They do have a good selection of crafty stuff at reasonable prices, and the guy working the counter was very helpful and nice. But there was virtually no one working on the floor and it was a busy Saturday afternoon. And everything is up high, so unless you're 6'8" you need help getting stuff from the top shelves. Since the nice guy had his hands full at the register, I was stuck with the choice between climbing up the wall or walking away without that rad sticker maker thing. So here I sit, with an extra $40 in my pocket and no stickers. The stamp selection was also a little thin, as they didn't have any sets of text, just numbers. I hate counting!
But I do have to stand up and say that the prices aren't bad. You could go to Michael's or some other behemoth and get crappier stuff for what, a dollar less? But then you'd have to drive to the burbs, and the people who work at those stores aren't as nice or knowledgeable. Still, I'm afraid I have to cut a star off, half for the stamp selection and half for the lack of staffing on the floor. I've been there before and had plenty of help, maybe this was an exception.
